Voting Day

No, I’m not going to nudge you to vote — you probably have received enough nudges from apps and media ads and online reminders.  I’m just wondering what it is that

Vote

makes some of us want to exercise our vote while others feel little compulsion to do so.  I have voted in every election since I was eligible.  I’m not bragging, just stating a fact.  When it seemed hopeless that my candidate/s would be elected, and even when they ran unopposed, I still went out to my polling place and cast my vote.

My friends don’t consider me compulsive or obsessive.  Really.  But I would feel I had neglected something if election day came and went and I didn’t do the voting thing.

So, I’m wondering.  What is it that makes you want to vote on election day?  Or not vote?
